Australian Open 2011 Titlist Kim Clijsters wrote in her blog that her rehab from the recent foot and stomach injuries is going well, and she hopes to be totally fit to defend her crown in Melbourne.

The Belgian number one had her 2011 season ended much earlier than expected, due to a series of injuries that held her out of competition since Indian Wells tournament.

41 Players in Black List over Potential Match Fixing

Match fixing in Tennis

A Swedish newspaper, SvD SPORT, published a list of 41 ATP and WTA players, stating that this is a blck list of players, who are suspected in match fixing, meaning that they have intentionally lost their matches to particular players, and people who knew about that, bet on their defeat.

So, that it a list of players, whose matches are tracked by Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU),Betfair and ATP.

Before posting the list, I would like to clarify that this is just an article which I found in a Swedish newspaper. There is no official confirmation from Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU), ATP or WTA. So, no-one knows whether the list is fake or not.

Murray Paradox

Andy Murray Shanghai Rolex Masters title

Andy Murray has been showing some incredible results lately, winning three tournaments in as many weeks, including ATP Masters 1000 Tournament in Shanghai. This is a milestone achieved by only a few players. By defending the title in Shanghai, the British number one officially became the third-ranked player in ATP, and is likely to finish the year on the third place.

Well, of course many will say that Shanghai Rolex Masters field was not very strong, due to the absence of red-hot Djokovic, always strong Federer, as well as Soderling and Del Potro, and after Nadal, Fish and several other top players were ousted in earlier rounds, yet it can’t be used as a reason to diminish Murray’s achievement, and the tremendous form he showed during the last three weeks. The Scott should only regret that the top form visited him two weeks after the last Grand Slam tournament of 2011 was over, and three months ahead of the Australian Open 2012.

Kvitova Takes Linz Title by Storm

Petra Kvitova Takes Linz title

After winning Wimbledon, it was a rollercoaster part of season for Petra Kvitova, with several very disappointing losses at US Open and in Toronto. But when WTA action got to the fast indoor courts, it seemed that the talented Czech finally returned to her winning form, clinching Generali Ladies Linz Cup. Her fifth WTA title of the year.

Seeded No.1, Kvitova won her first three rounds easily, including a 62 62 quarterfinal victory over Daniela Hantuchova. However, she was one step from the exit, being 64 31 down against Jelena Jankovic, before turning the game in her favor 46 64 63.
