Friday was the time of quater-final battles at Shanghai Rolex Masters.

The first match of the day featured a battle of two famed veterans, No. 3 seed David Ferrer up against Andy Roddick, seeded No. 10th. It was yet another dramatic match for the Spaniard, who had to battle all the way from losing the first set at tie-break.

Ferrer got his game to another level in the second set, taking it by storm at 6-2. In the early games of the third set, Roddick earned three break-points, but failed to realize them, boosting Ferrer’s confidence.
