Clijsters Hopes to Return in 2012


Australian Open 2011 Titlist Kim Clijsters wrote in her blog that her rehab from the recent foot and stomach injuries is going well, and she hopes to be totally fit to defend her crown in Melbourne.

The Belgian number one had her 2011 season ended much earlier than expected, due to a series of injuries that held her out of competition since Indian Wells tournament.

In hopes to get back to the highest level, Clijsters already returned to practice courts, in order to prepare for the the Diamond Games exhibition in her native Belgium in December, and for the upcoming season, when she has to defend her Australian Open Title, and playing the Olympic Games, which according to the Belgian champion, will be her main goal for her last season in the WTA tour.

“On 1 January 2012 my new season will begin at the Brisbane tournament”,Clijsters wrote.

28-year old Mom and former No 1 in the world, dropped out of the top 10 this week, and will fall more, as she will not defend her WTA Championships crown, but expects to get things back on winning ways next year.
