Janko Tipsarevic wins Kremlin Cup 2012 title

Top-seeded Janko Tipsarevic beat fellow Serbian and defending title holder Viktor Troicki 6-4, 6-2 in the first all-Serb ATP final in open era to take the Kremlin Cup title by storm on Sunday, whereas Slovak Dominika Cibulkova won the first career WTA title, going from a set down to beat Kaia Kanepi 3-6, 7-6 (1), 7-5 ending the season of a high note.

Cibulkova caused major upset of the tournament beating top seed and home favorite Vera Zvonareva in quater-finals in almost a three-hour-long battle, and went all the way to her first ever title.

ATP Masters Cup hopeful Janko Tipsarevic didn’t drop a set throughout the tournament, upsetting Dmitry Tursunov and Nicolay Davydenko on the way to his second title of 2011.

Meanwhile, fourth-ranked Victoria Azarenka from Belarus won Luxembourg crown, beating Romanian qualifier Monica Niculescu 6-2, 6-2. It was the third title of 2011 and either career title for Azarenka, who will compete at the WTA Championships in Istanbul this week, being one of the red-hot favorites of the year-end finale.

And Gael Monfils of France won the Stockholm Open defeating Jarkko Nieminen 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 for his first title of the year. It was the fourth career ATP Tour title for the 10th-ranked Monfils.
